DAAD / NRF In-Country Scholarships for South African Citizens


Scholarship for Women Applicants must be South African citizens or hold permanent resident status in South Africa (in the latter case, both the university and official proof of residence work must be provided). Applicants from third countries eligible only for PhD programs and under the condition that they are employed at the university where the PhD will be implemented.
-Applicants must obtain an average value of the accumulation of 65% and above for consideration.
-Female candidates and those belonging to disadvantaged groups has historically been strongly encouraged to apply.
-Age limit 36 ​​years at the time of the application applies.

USA: Richard D. Stehly Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship for Women Translations must be literal and complete versions of the original transcript. Translations must be done by officials, university or government official translation service. translation must be verified or signed by the translator. Applicants can not file a self-translation. Programs should be explained in detail. The Diabetes Australia Research Trust Millennium Award Scholarship for Women


All Scholarship for Women applications are reviewed by five independent assessors. Only one application in an Award category will be considered from each researcher.
Type 1 Millennium Award is made available for research into Type 1 Diabetes including priority areas- Modulation of the immune system;Beta cell replacement / islet transplantation;Genetic engineering / gene therapy;Hypoglycemia; and Complications (Retinopathy, Neuropathy, Nephropathy).
Type 2 Underworks Millennium Award is made available for research into Type 2 Diabetes including the priority areas -Insulin secretion and action; Insulin resistance; and Complications (Retinopathy, Neuropathy, Nephropathy).
Millennium Awards will be awarded for two year periods. Except in cases where other provision is made, each award will be paid in equal half-yearly instalments, and will expire at the end of 24 months from the date specified in the letter announcing the award. All Scholarship for Women funds which are unexpended at the end of the award period, or for which orders have not been placed, will revert to the Diabetes Australia Research Trust.

PhD Scholarship for Women


A PhD Scholarship for Women in the field of visual Neuroethology is from the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand).Scholarship for Women Candidates will participate in a new project on the extraordinary visual sense jumping spiders. This project, set to begin in July 2011, will be carried out in collaboration with Dr. Ximena Nelson, Professor Robert Jackson & Assoc. David O'Carroll (University of Adelaide, Australia).

Scholarship for Women Applicants must have a Master of Science, BA, with distinction first class or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Applicants with experience in dealing with invertebrates in optics, neurophysiology and behavior are especially welcome. The breakdown of the price of $ 25,000 (NZ $) per year. Tenure is 3.0 years full-time, subject to satisfactory progress.

Scholarship Description: The MHRD is a unique Master degree program in which students undertake a foundational semester of study at the University of Sydney, and then a second semester at one of the four partner universities:

* Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia)
* Mahidol University (Thailand)
* Katmandu School of Law (Nepal)
* University of Colombo (Sri Lanka)

Graduates of the course will gain an interdisciplinary understanding of human rights and democratisation in the Asia Pacific, and will have opportunities to research and examine the application of human rights and democratisation in the field with the partner institutions.

In the first semester at the University of Sydney, students will undertake a foundational course in social science, legal and political approaches to human rights and democratisation. During the second semester students will follow two core units of study complemented by either supervised research, an internship at an in-country organisation specialising in human rights/democratisation or undertake further specialised electives. Students must select one of the four partners universities listed above to undertake their second semester study.

PhD Scholarship : Empathy Development and Bullying Behaviour

Overview
A PhD position is available at the Behavioural Science Institute for the project ’The association between empathy development and bullying behaviour in children and early adolescents’. This project is funded by a NWO grant within the Youth and Family programme. As a PhD student in this project you will develop computer-aided measurement instruments and organize and conduct field data collection at primary schools, analyse the resulting data, and report on them at national and international scientific fora. This project has both scientific and societal aims.

Requirements
You are an enthusiastic and ambitious person. You have a recent Master’s degree in psychology or a comparable qualification. You are clearly interested in social cognitive development. You enjoy participating in international scientific communities and have the ambition to pursue an academic career. You are well organized and conscientious, and have ample experience with the planning and execution of complex logistics operations, such as data collection at schools. You speak Dutch well enough to organize and conduct such a data collection. You are able to communicate competently in English and have good writing skills in English (an English academic writing test will be part of the selection procedure). You have good methodological abilities and ample experience, for example, in network data analyses or structural equation modelling.

With its six Bachelor’s and seven Master’s programmes, three Research Master’s programmes, three educational institutes with a total of 4,500 students, three research institutes and the Academic Centre for Social Sciences, the Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the largest faculties at Radboud University Nijmegen. The project will be part of the Social Development research programme of the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen. The BSI is a research institute where highly qualified researchers conduct quantitative studies on the fundamental principles and processes that govern human behaviour. The six BSI research programmes integrate approaches from both psychology and education, and focus on technology-enhanced analysis of behaviour.
